NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE AUSABLE VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, CLINTON, ESSEX AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES,

TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE AUSABLE VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, CLINTON, ESSEX AND FRANKLIN

NEW YORK:
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Education of the AuSable Valley Central School District, Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties, New York, has scheduled a special meeting of the qualified voters of said District to be held on March 10, 2026 in the AuSable Valley Central School Middle School High School Cafeteria, at which time the polls shall be open between the hours of 12:00 p.m. (noon) and 8:00 p.m. local time, for the purpose of voting by paper ballot on the following proposition:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
?Shall the Board of Education of the AuSable Valley Central School District (the ?District?) be authorized to purchase gas-fueled transportation vehicles for use by the District consisting of three 65-passenger buses, each at a maximum estimated cost of $166,000, including incidental costs and expenses in connection therewith, all at an aggregate estimated maximum cost not to exceed $498,000, with such cost being raised by a tax upon the taxable property of the District to be levied and collected in annual installments in the years and in the amounts as the Board of Education shall determine in accordance with section 416 of the Education Law with such tax to be partially offset by State aid available therefore, and in anticipation of such tax by the issuance of up to $498,000 of debt obligations of the District, as may be necessary?
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the Project constitutes a ?Type II Action? pursuant to Section 6 NYCRR Part 617.7 of the Regulations of the Department of Environmental Conservation of the State of New York, adopted pursuant to Article 8 of the Envi- ronmental Conservation Law, as amended (the ?SEQR Act?), and as such no review under the SEQR Act is required and the purchase of the buses does not require a permit from the Adirondack Park Agency;
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots and early mail ballots for voting on the above-referenced proposition may be applied for at the office of the District Clerk, 1273 Route 9N, Clintonville, New York 12924. Any such application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the date of the vote on the above-referenced proposition, if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before such vote, if the ballot is to be picked up personally by the voter. A list of all persons to whom absentee ballots and early mail ballots shall have been issued will be available for public inspection during regular business hours in the office of the District Clerk on each of the five (5) days prior to the day of the election except Saturday, Sunday or holidays. Absentee ballots and early mail ballots must be received in the office of the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m. local time on March 10, 2026;
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that military voters who are defined by Commissioner's Regulation Part 11, who are qualified voters as of the District may apply for a military ballot during normal business hours or by requesting an application from the Office of the District Clerk, 1273 Route 9N, Clintonville, New York 12924. In a request for a military ballot application/military ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application/military ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or electronic mail. Completed applications for military ballots must be received by the Office of the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 10, 2026. Ballots for military voters shall be mailed, or otherwise distributed, no later than twenty-five (25) days prior to the date of the vote. As such, all military ballots must be received in the Office of the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. local time on March 10, 2026.
